It’s a frustrating feeling knowing we now live in a world where it seems like those with the loudest voices and the most “flash” They are those who get the best opportunities and are seen, heard, or presented with them.
The time when those who can keep their heads down, do the work that others claim to be doing and remain committed to their craft ethically are the ones who make it through the day. “selling out.”

But here’s the truth…

Your work won’t make a difference if you don’t know how to communicate your message in a way that resonates with the people who need you and the work you provide the most.

My early days as a intern, working for nothing, to the middle of my career of My career was marked by constant and firm messaging.
“It’s not about you.”
“Real coaches don’t have social media.”
“In this profession, you are to be seen, not heard.”
“It’s not about the money.”
“We want a coach, not a brand.”
These were phrases that were echoed by a whole community of Not only by my peers, but also by my early mentors. I believed in them wholeheartedly.
For a while anyway…

It’s what happens when your self-Image is tied to the wrong things Let the anxiety and tension build up. of Want to be the best? of you because you know you have more to offer than you’re getting the chance to show.
It’s what leads to stagnation and an eventual lack of fulfillment.
Stagnation is when fear and insecurity overtake your decisions, your actions and your work.
If these harmful behaviors aren’t addressed, they can become a problem. Blindspots They can cause you to lose your job, your relationships, or stop you from making the difference that you were meant to.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.

This realization was made when I was finally called out by those I thought was serving me, while still doing what I thought was my job: keeping low profile and focusing on the actual work.
Training a large group in one afternoon of athletes preparing for their upcoming season, I was asked by an 11 year NFL Veteran why I wasn’t on social media.
I looked at him, and I recited the mantra I had been hearing all my career. “because true professionals do the work, they don’t talk about it.”
“Interesting,” He replied, nodding his head in disbelief.
“So you don’t think your work has any value except for the people who are right in front of you?”
I was surprised by his response, since it was the first time I’d ever considered it that way.
“That’s not it,” I fired back. “I’m just not egotistical enough to think anyone else really cares what I have to say. Enough people are shouting from proverbial mountaintops already.”
“That’s one way to look at it,” He stated. “But those people aren’t you and they haven’t had the same life experiences you’ve had. That alone makes what you have to say unique.”
I had no reply.
The next day, I did more than create a social media account. I redesigned my website.-Committed to writing my own book.
A book that told a story of Poor medical care led to communication barriers, which nearly cost me my life as teenager.
A book that told me a story about which I was embarrassed of For almost 15 years, I was angry at them.
A book that is so many “big name” publishers told me nobody would be interested in reading since I wasn’t a household name, because I worked in an obscure industry, and because the story of My extreme weight-Loss and hospitalization were “too intense.”
A book that was eventually a best seller-Bestseller in many categories, translated into almost a dozen languages and adopted by Fortune 500 companies, universities and sporting organisations alike. A book that sold more than 100,000 copies in two years, despite it being self-published.-published and funded solely by me and my wife’s paltry savings account.
I’d love to tell you that after the success of my first book I received no further criticism, haven’t dealt with imposter syndrome since, and that everything else just fell into my lap.
But I’d be lying to you.
No matter what you create there will always be people your work doesn’t connect with, there will always be mistakes, there will always be setbacks and there will always be critics.
However, it comes at a high price of Doing nothing is more expensive than paying the price of being wrong.
The voice is still there. of the loudest and harshest critic I’ve ever known every day.
That is my voice.
If you are a person who wants to change the world, you will always be your loudest critic. You will always be the most challenging boss you’ve ever worked for.
The boss who says that your work is never good enough.
The boss whose expectations aren’t realistic.
Your boss who prevents you from submitting work, because they know that they will tear it apart once they look at it.
There comes a moment when this narrative is not as it should be. of us.
A time when we’ve had enough of Running from or apologizing to what we want.
This is a time when we can turn our frustration into fuel.
This is a time when we can face our fears of Failing to judge or failing Tailwind instead of You will feel a headwind.
It can happen when someone loses their job for the first or after realizing they need a fresh challenge.
For others, it comes because they’re tired of going to bed at night wondering if they’re really doing all they are capable of. If they’re actually making the change they originally set out to make when they started in their chosen field.
This tension is caused by the desire to make everything better. To create value. To contribute and have firm footing.
We’re often told to ignore it. To be grateful and focus on what is happening right now. But leaders don’t just live for the moment, they think for the future.
It is also dangerous to ignore tension because it can lead to anxiety and restlessness, which are conducive for the creation of new ones. of Blindspots Our professional and personal growth.
What’s a blindspot?
They’re the things that lie just outside our periphery. These are the things that prevent us realizing our untapped potential.
Things that hinder our ability to see things as they are and as they could be.

Blindspots Tell us that neither our work nor our art matter and that what we pursue can wait until tomorrow.
