The Body Electric:
You can cultivate Eroticism for Pleasure or Liberation
“WHEN I SPEAK OF THE EROTIC, THEN, I SPEAK OF IT AS AN ASSERTION OF THE LIFEFORCE; OF THAT CREATIVE ENERGY EMPOWERED.” -AUDRE LORDE
In the Tradition of Shakta Tantra, Working with the Red Goddess
OM KAILA HREEM HASA KAHALA HREEM SAKALA HREEM
Tripura Sundari, the beautiful red goddess Tripura, is wise in her imagery. She sits on a seat that contains all of the gods, including Shiva, and she looks out over the other gods. Desire can only be found in itself, in the magic sensations of worship, devotion, or attraction. Shakti worship calls us to be present for our desires and to not view them as obstacles or signs of lack. Desire is the love language for Creation and you are the divine love.-A child who speaks this language fluently in the depths is a child. These words are yours to conjure with us… for pleasure or liberation.
This course is a combination of group work and personal sadhana. It also includes enrichment. Once they sign up, participants will be given a syllabus that gives them a spiritual practice in the Shakta Tantra tradition. The The sadhana’s purpose is to awaken desire and excite the spirit through mantra, mudra and deity worship. Participants will have enrichment activities that require them to listen to, read, and watch erotic authors such as Adrienne rich and Anais Nin as well as pleasure activists like Adrienne Maree brown and Audre Lorde, as well as embodiment workers such Michaela Boehm. Participants are also invited to the group sessions, where magick and medicine really happens in the mandala.
