Jeff Anderson – Hardgainer Project X
For those “skinny hardgainers” They are tired of hearing people tell them that they should eat more and exercise harder. Jeff Anderson Your back.
The “Hardgainer Project X” introduction, Anderson Call the people who give such advice “knuckle-dragging morons”.
That hurts.
You see, I’ve given that advice a gazillion times. Two things were responsible for my transformation in training: learning how to eat for muscle gains (caloric surplus), and working out intensely.
Before you call yourself a “a” “moron” It made me very upset. Anderson. He creates good programs. I believe he was referring to the people who gave the advice. It was not that they were wrong. But it was that the advice was insufficient and therefore, irritating.
I agree. “Eat more”, “more protein”, “train harder”, etc. are cliché’s and not likely something the struggling hardgainer hasn’t heard a thousand times. I certainly heard them when I first started training and they weren’t really helpful. I didn’t understand what they meant. I was annoyed.

This first article gives an interesting overview of the reasons why ectomorphs can be called ectomorphs. Hormones, types of muscle fiber and many other factors. It’s a good base of knowledge for the hardgainer to have in mind as he attempts to build muscle.
Next Anderson He gets into diet, and that is where I lost my enthusiasm.
His overall Recommendations for a healthy diet These are very standard. This isn’t a bad thing; I’m of the belief that the standard recommendations for mass gain dieting are standard for a reason – because they work. It’s just that there was a lot of build-Up suggesting that something new was on the horizon, there was a lot science and much mocking. “so-called experts”. The conclusion was basically the same as everyone else’s.
I couldn’t help but be a lot disappointed.
I wasn’t convinced, either. Anderson Actually understood what I feel. The greatest obstacle for a hardgainer – Consistently achieving a caloric surplus. Although he does recognize that it is important to eat to a caloric surplus, he doesn’t stress that. The emphasis is on how to. “so-called experts” Continue saying this. It’s a bit confusing.
Cliché or not, eating to a caloric surplus is necessary to build muscle. It is easy to say it is simple, but it can be difficult for hardgainers to understand what this means and what it means. I don’t think Anderson even effectively says it and I definitely don’t think he gives the struggling hardgainer the education and tools he needs to employ it.
The Training portion of is unique And interesting. It covers the basics needed for hardgainer… compound exercise emphasis, progressive overload, 3 day-a-week workout schedule. It also has some very unique features. Anderson tweaks… a rest-A pause technique variation, and a progressive loading system that allows you to stop training when results slow down (and gives you a plan for regrouping and getting back to your goals). This plan also includes a low-impact workout.-Carb week
It seems like a solid training program.
Anderson He is one of the best men to meet. Smart supplement advice love his He doesn’t disappoint here, providing a great introduction to cost-Effective supplementation
It’s a fast and fun read. Many great tips are scattered throughout. However, I didn’t get the sense that Anderson He was either a hardgainer, or was well-aware of the unique challenges faced by true hardgainer ectomorphs. These are things he understands from a scientific standpoint, but maybe not from a practical and real perspective.-The world’s point of view
It’s a good program overall, but not the best option for struggling hardgainers.
