Last weekend, Gordon Ryan earned his black belt debut at an IBJJF tournament in the No.-Gi Pan American Championships held in New York City. Although Gordon was doubted by many about his ability to adapt this new set of rules that doesn’t allow reaping or heelhooks, Gordon won gold in his weight category and absolute – submitting all of his rivals.
