Janina Fisher – Chronic Pain Trauma
Many of our clients who have suffered from traumatizing childhood experiences are suffering from physical pain and chronic conditions that defy traditional medical treatments. They are looking to resolve their existing issues or address posttraumatic stress.-Traumatic stress and clients’ preoccupations with their bodies and suffering can often get in the way when they try to focus on therapy. Clients may mistakenly interpret attempts to address psychosomatic issues as invalidating. “It’s all in your head.” Psychotherapy models don’t offer a clear path for therapists to see if there is a link between trauma and medical issues.-Method of cutting
This recording will focus on chronic physical symptoms in trauma clients. They are a manifestations of unprocessed trauma memories held in the body. This approach, inspired by Robert Scaer’s work, uses interventions from Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems as well as clinical hypnosis. Clients are able to locate the source of their pain in their past events using this approach. Learn how to help clients “hear” The communication they convey through their symptoms allows you to connect with the child holding the bodily manifestations of memory and help you resolve the trauma.-Fear and pain are the main causes of chronic physical problems.
