Description:
In North America, more than 5 million people are treated annually in the ICU.Ā 20% of ICU patients will die before being discharged, but those who survive often face difficulties. Many ICU survivors who have survived are shocked to discover that their lives are very different from theirs.-treatment existences.
There is evidence from dozens of investigations that suggests that nearly half of ICU survivors suffer complications. This includes cognitive impairment, depression, PTSD and physical debility.Ā All of these problems together form the condition known as Post-Intensive Care Syndrome These are known as PICS. They cause major problems in areas such daily functioning, functioning, overall quality of living, and so on.
Although PICS affects millions of people each year, very few professionals are aware of the condition and are familiar with effective treatment options for those who are affected. This recording will help clinicians from all disciplines identify PICS and how to use evidence. It uses current research and clinical examples.-Its treatment is based on these strategies.
Clinicians will be able to tailor their clinical approaches to meet the needs of PICS patients, as well as their families, during and after hospitalization.
