The Touch of Nyarlathotep

This is the Only Routine That Will Strengthen Your Abilities

If you’ve studied any techniques of instantaneous obedience, such as the technique explained in The Wellington Lecture, or any others, you’re probably anxious to try them out. But where? But where? How?

The Touch of Nyarlathotep Original purpose was to display obedience techniques. Later, it was pointed out that because of the unique method, there’s Failure is impossible. Also, the Touch of Nyarlathotep is just what’s needed to try out obedience techniques on an audience. 

You can use your imagination to create a blank canvas!

Here’s how it looks to them.

After dinner, a deck is convincingly shuffled. After a few cuts you can deal three cards face down.-You place your hand on a table. The subject is asked to name one of the three cards. You hold your wrist, and she will think about her card. Then you reach down to pick it up.

No guessing, fumbling or guessing. There’s no eye or muscle reading. Nothing is final-Printed down or emailed to you. There is no NLP or equivalent. She simply thinks of random cards and picks them up in seconds.

Five cards are dealt face-up, and the deck is again cut.-up. You can drop your hand to pick up the card she has mentally selected.

There is no contact mind reading. No whispered cues. And no stooges. It’s a simple and clever revelation.

The next test will be more difficult. The deck is shuffled yet again. The subject trims the deck and gives six cards face-up.-Then, she brings the cards to the table. Before she seals the envelope, she shuffles all of the cards. This envelope will be used for the final test.

The five remaining random mixed cards are then turned face-up-up. The subject holds a card and then you grab it. No dual reality. No trick decks. No electronic devices.

You can ask the subject to take the deck and shuffle them again. Then, remove any five cards. This time she holds the cards so YOU CAN’T SEE THE FACES. She holds a card and you reach for it. Wow!

Are there more difficult tests? Yes. You tell the subject to place the sealed envelope under every plate. When she’s finished she holds your wrist and you walk over to the plate. The hidden envelope can be revealed by lifting the plate up. This is quite amazing. It is astonishing.

Last, you should remind dinner guests that your subject shuffled the deck and chose some cards. It was actually not visible to anyone. You ask everyone present to guess the mystery card’s identity. If you wish, the guesses can be noted on the envelope next to the subject.

This time you hold the subject’s wrist, look into her eyes and say, “The truth is… it’s the Six of Spades.”

Of course, you’re correct.

You will notice that each test is slightly harder and larger than the previous. This was my dinner with clients ritual when I worked at trade shows. This was sure to impress my clients and earn me a healthy tip at the checkout.
