Let me tell you a little story…
In 2000, Life Coaching was still a new field. It had lots of promise. It was a field that really worked for me. Tim was the primary breadwinner during that time, and he was running his own business. We wanted to start our family.
I was looking for a job that would give me satisfaction, as well as the freedom to have (and be a mother) two children.
My Life Coaching was a great experience. Helping people overcome obstacles and realize their dreams was a joy, and I was so grateful for every day. My clients came primarily organically through referrals. I also kept my practice small so I could have my beautiful daughters in 2003 and 2006.
Then, our lives took a terrible turn.
In 2009, when the economy crashed, my husband Tim’s thriving 14 year-Old businesses can be liquidated in a matter of minutes.
As if it were gone. No income. Nada. By that time we had a 2 ½ year old and a 4 ½ year old and a mortgage and bills to pay… Meanwhile, Tim kept beating his head against the wall, trying to drum up some business but no one was hiring.
So we did exactly what so many around us did at that time….

Then, we took on debt.Big time. |
That was a Colorado wildfire. We burned through our savings quicker than that. “low interest introductory offer credit card dance” You can go deeper and deeper by the thousands.
I tried every trick I knew, but things my biz was moving at a snail’s pace. We had to double my practice within a short time.
So I decided to get some expert help – which can be pretty scary when you’re running up the credit cards. I still recall the deafening silence I heard when I told Tim I was looking to hire a coach for my business. (I think he might have fainted.
We both knew I had to do something new and drastic. Tim believed in me. I took the plunge and began learning cutting-edge strategies and tools for building businesses. I also learned how to implement what I had learned. It worked! After I had implemented new marketing strategies I was able to redefine my packages and raise my fees. I booked clients after client. We are grateful that we weren’t. “in crisis”).
However, we discovered that my daughter needed surgery and needed a big boost of income.
Given our circumstances, my wise and wonderful coach said that It was a simple matter of necessity that I launch a program. Yep – I had To create and launch a program where I could leverage my time working in a “one-to-Many models, not just one-On-one.
This would give credibility and authority. This would generate pent.-up demand. This would allow me to see a huge increase in my clients and my income at once.
But I was skeptical. My entire list contained only 600 people. Aren’t you supposed to need a big database (list) in order to get enough “takers” Are you looking for a group program
It was also very painful to attempt to fill the program when I tried it years ago. There wasn’t such a thing as a “group program”. “mailing list” Back then, social media was half the options available to us today. (What I do remember is calling one person at the time and posting flyers to the Community Boards at Whole Foods and Starbucks. It was NOT effective.).
But… I knew that I trusted this coach. I was given a step by her coach.-By-Step-by-step instructions for everything you need to do to launch a highly successful campaign. The tasks… the sequence of events… how to calendar it all out… what to offer in the first place.
