Many people perform this split because they have the flexibility in their inner hamstrings which allow the hips to reach the floor. But this is a BIG No-NO!
Why? Because it puts a lot of strain on the front leg and the lower back when you sit up straight. When the skill is converted to a split, this can often lead to injuries.
