Creating Journal Comics: Drawing Your Life More
Drawing The use of pictures to record human events dates back to the cave paintings at Lascaux in France. This tradition has been maintained throughout history, with graphic novels such as “Persepolis” Marjane Satrapi
This class will teach you how to make comics about yourself. It’s all about turning your daily events into comics. We’ll discuss format, drawing style and facial expressions as well as backgrounds. Journal comics can be public or private, but it is yours.
Drawing While the daily events of your life might seem mundane or boring, you might see them differently when you draw. It’s funny how the coffee you spilled suddenly becomes more humorous. Reminiscing on past events can alter our perceptions and emotions. In my own experience, I’ve found a greater appreciation for the life I have when I take the time to draw it out.
