Hi, I’m Dávid Tálas. Your Instagrizzle Masterclass instructor.
Some call me the Instagram Doctor.
Like many entrepreneurs, my major was not in marketing or business. I was actually a space doctor at the time.
Training astronauts and getting them into space-They will be there to help them when they return home. All that stuff.
Everything about space travel fascinated me. I wanted to see people reach Mars and live there. Problem was, in Hungary we didn’t have a space program or space medicine training. So, I was left with this burning passion inside.
I thought to myself:
“Everyone is talking about making content. So what if I could build a community of like-minded individuals by sharing things about space that inspire me? What opportunities would it unlock, if I could gather an audience of people who are just as excited about space exploration as I am?”
My friends were worried that I would post on my personal Instagram account. I therefore created Marstronauts on Instagram and began sharing my thoughts and ideas. I was lucky enough to get one of my first posts published. “viral”.

It was liked by 613 people, received 23 comments and shared on a few other pages. This brought me up to 1,000 followers in seven days (see screenshots). It was a huge deal, as it was the highest I had ever received.
I believed I understood social media at that point.
“If I can keep creating viral content like this, I can grow my page in no time.”
It turned out that it was not easy.
Like a addict, I was constantly posting content and checking engagement and likes every minute. However, none of them fared as well as the original post.
This was my first lesson on social media marketing.
Growing a brand wasn’t about being viral or getting lots of likes. These are vanity metrics.
It is important to maintain consistency and provide quality content.
Gary Keller’s book The One Thing explains this:
“Success is built sequentially. It’s one thing at a time.”
The same principle applies to building an audience. Your audience is built one post at a. That’s how you can build a loyal audience.

My focus shifted from studying principles to learning how successful influencers and experts in the field increased their online audiences.
It’s not enough to follow what they did. Understanding why they did it is important (i.e. content creation process). As someone who didn’t have a team, was in medical school, and had very limited time, I modified a process that worked within my packed schedule.
In just two months, the Marstronauts community grew to 10,000 members through my new process. And 70,000 followers today (more than a year later)*.
