Core Training typically consists of mat-based exercises, 50 forms crunches or planks that make your face fall off. Core training is a complex mix of muscles, joints and systems that are intricately interconnected. It could be said that everything from your ribs to your pelvis is the core, and any exercise that uses this area even distantly could be considered core training, and either setting you up for success of failure depending on how itās trained.
Consider how many people go to the gym and either donāt know how to breathe during different exercises or breathe with completely inefficient patterns that are limiting their strength at best, and potentially setting them up for some serious injuries.
Core Although training can seem complicated, it is possible to make it easy with a few basic principles. Do you want to recover? Speed? Maximum strength? Superpower?-Stiff spine? Each one has its own training method, but you can also adjust common variables to get the results you desire.

I supervise the training and post-training.-Implementation of rehabilitation programs with over 100 medical and other allied health professionals. Iāve trained all types of clients, from office workers to joint replacement patients, to chronic pain and recurrent injury clients, all the way up to pro and Olympic caliber athletes, marathon runners and Paralympic athletes. These are my simple Laws of Fitness Core Training held true in all cases, and Iām going to show you how to use them to your advantage.
First, my own āBackā Story
Dean Somerset Advanced Core Training Back StoryIām not immune to my own bad habits. I was an active child and suffered many injuries as a result of doing wrong things without guidance. At my worst, I wasnāt able to walk and had to use a walker to get around campus while at university. At my best, Iāve managed to deadlift 455 pounds. This was after doctors told me Iād likely not walk by the time I was 30 due to a serious low back injury.
Once I figured out how core stabilization played into my own issues, I saw immediate improvements in my ability to move pain free, my strength improved dramatically, and coming from a point where I couldnāt even bend forward to touch my knees, Iāve been able to do the splits with no pain or problems. It was the same for my clients, who also experienced the same benefits. It was so pronounced I took all previous core work out of my programs because it just wasnāt working as well.
Why Everybody Needs It Core Strength andamp; Core Stability
Core strength and stability is something everyone needs to produce a forceful movement, whether thatās bending down to tie your shoes, lifting a bag of groceries out of the car, creating first-Step speed or reaching your maximum in the gym. Core Stability refers to the ability of your spine to remain in a stable position, while other body parts like your hips and shoulders do the heavy lifting. The spine acts as a buffer, driving force between one end and the other without ever bending or breaking.
