Dr. Dave Tilley – Keys To Developing Flexibility and Strength In Gymnastics
Gymnastics Coaches and Medical professionals who work with gymnasts are always looking for ways to improve strength and power. and Flexibility for athletes. They seek out ways to increase their athletic skills safely. and In a way that will immediately increase gymnastics skill performance and score higher in meets. They are looking for long-lasting changes.
The problem is that despite spending hours training in the gym, you don’t have the flexibility to do anything. and Many people who train in gymnastics struggle with strength. and There has been no improvement in gymnastics performance. There are several reasons why this is so. First, our technology-filled age has a lot of information. It is difficult for gymnasts to discern what information is credible and scientifically supported. and You can use them in the gym to get positive results. Every gymnast is different, so it can be difficult to determine which strength or flexibility exercises are best. and What is the best way to avoid injury? Everyone involved in gymnastics is safe. and The athletes are feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. and It can be difficult to know what to do to support gymnasts’ growth.
Why is it that I feel these emotions so well? This is exactly the same spot that I was once in. I am a dual gymnastics coach. and This frustration is what I experienced as a Sports Physical Therapist, who specializes in the treatment and rehabilitation of gymnasts. I can relate to feeling overwhelmed and confused. and When you try to approach flexibility, you get frustrated and Strength training is something I do with the gymnasts that I train on a weekly basis. There is a better way, and that is the good news. It is possible to combine traditional gymnastics flexibility with modern gymnastics. and Strength methods that combine new scientific principles with gymnastics training to revolutionize the sport of gymnastics and You will see quicker results.
Rupert and I was fortunate to be able to learn. and Collaborate with amazing gymnastics coaches and gymnastics medical professionals and The last few years have seen a lot of strength coaches. We have also been blessed to work with hundreds gymnasts from recreational to elite on this common flexibility. and These are strength issues. This allows us to identify common patterns. and Come up with practical solutions to assist others.
