What if instead? of You can wait “start over” Next Monday (or next Year), you might make some progress again today.
For the first time ever, I’m releasing the exact program I’ve used to successfully bring my clients back from the brink. They are proud to be back in the body they loved of, back to the gym, and back to feeling like themselves: It’s called Foundations.
Foundations This program was created for those who are looking to get back into training after a break. It’s for people who want to gain muscle, lose fat, and build strength—while learning how to master the foundational movement patterns that will keep their body bulletproof for life.
This is a complete listing.-Body training program that will make your body work and sweat, just as you did before the chaos of life.
You’ll be cursing Dr. John during your workout, but you’ll find you recover quickly and finish your workouts feeling strong and accomplished. (Instead of You feel like your joints hurt and want to get the hell out of you.)
With Foundations, you’re ensuring your best body is still ahead of you.
Even if you’ve been injured before.
Even if it’s been awhile since you were in the gym.
Even if you’re still working around annoying aches and pains.
No more slow progress. No more stagnant progress. “winging it at the gym”. There is no need to wait for everything perfect before you can make progress.
Sometimes everyone needs to reset.
Here’s how to do it:
It could be a long job.-Hours at a new high-Stress job. Maybe a new baby. You might have an old injury.
Oftentimes, it’s a combination of These are just a few of the many factors that make up the top of one another…and we get buried underneath and lose all our progress.
It’s not fun…but it’s not a death wish either.
Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked with everyone from desk jockey’s to Olympians, and I can tell you this: At some point in their lives, they need a “reset”. They will feel refreshed and ready to get back in the gym.
That’s when they call me.
” At age 58, I’m still able to bench and military press hard on a consistent basis without pain and I’m convinced that the warmup drill from FHT is a big reason why.”
“For over 6 years I suffered from a shoulder injury that prevented me from going even remotely heavy. In a matter of weeks, utilising Dr. Rusin’s recommendations I was able to get back to pressing without pain.”
“With FHT I put on pounds of muscle, improved my strength (even on lifts I didn’t do during the phases) and most importantly – I did it all with no pain.”
They Know My program lasts 9 weeks and is a great way to get back in training without getting hurt or to lift without fear. of Setbacks can be overcome and gains made faster than expected.
You see, I’ve spent the past decade working with athletes at all stages. After rigorous testing, I discovered that there were many. of my clients weren’t ready for a hardcore program yet.
They were out of A routine was broken and all attempts to restart it failed.
So I’ve spent years developing and testing a proven system to help you get back to gaining muscle and strength— whether it’s been a few months (or a few years) since you’ve been in the gym.
And now, for the first time ever, I’m making that system available to you.

Hi, I’m Dr. John Rusin.
I’ve built the reputation of being the strength coach and performance coach that other experts turn to. Especially when they’re hurting and can’t perform the way they used to.
Most programs assume that you are in good health before you start. But I KnowMany people have been wrongly trained or have something to do with their lives.
The way I approach things is also different. My programs are reversed-Engineered to protect clients and maximize strength and performance.
You will see that most experts fall into this category. of There are two camps
- Strength coaches who are great at helping people get stronger—but don’t understand how to coach movement and keep people pain-free.
- Physical therapists who are great at keeping people healthy—but don’t understand how to help people build muscle or increase strength.
I believe both. of These extremes are not right. Each has a shortcoming.-While these benefits are short-term, they do not create long-term athletes who are resilient and strong. That’s why I pride myself on being both a strength coach AND a doctor of Physical therapy.
My programs are designed to help you become stronger without getting hurt or hurt again.
Why is it so hard to get back in shape?
Many of My clients come to see me with their heads down. “I used to be an athlete”, “I used to go to the gym 5x a week”. They want to know why every attempt to restart fails.
It’s a great question. It’s an excellent question, especially after having worked with thousands. of Three main reasons clients get stuck are:
Recovery is what we believe it means “do nothing”.
It upsets me as a Physical Therapist to see that. of my “colleagues” These are the reasons. PT’s with little to no exercise experience try to treat complex problems by essentially ignoring them—and telling their clients to rest and wait for the injury to heal.
Sure, these PT’s may give their clients a few small little exercises to help…but that’s usually where they stop. The client may feel less pain after the first few sessions but have no idea what to do next. How soon can they get back to working out? What type of of What exercises should they avoid What can they do to get back on track?
This is the way of It is a bad idea to do things. I’m often left trying to re-Educate my clients about why “doing nothing” They might feel more at ease if they avoid a particular movement pattern altogether.-Term, but it will only make matters worse in the long-term-term.
Here’s what most PT’s won’t tell you: “Rest” is only important when you are truly dealing with a serious injury… broken bones, torn muscles, debilitating pain, you get the idea.
Then you will know what injuries require. You will also need to practice blood flow and movement.
It is so frustrating for me that clients who have suffered an injury in the past few months, or even years, feel anxious to exercise again. No matter what injury you are currently suffering, it will only worsen if you keep on exercising. “rest” It will never end. It will never get worse.
When done correctly, training always improves injuries. ALWAYS.
Reason #2 why we get stuck is:
The same program works for us.
…that also left us injured.
But the problem is the training that got you here—got you here.
It wasn’t just life that knocked us off the wagon, it was the style of Training, the exercises, and the amount of We put in the time and energy. These exercises were the best. “all or nothing” Mentality that has left us disabled, immobile and burned.-out.
If we want success and a restart, we must do things differently.
-
It is important to find exercises that make our bodies stronger and not compromise our joints.
-
We need a plan to follow that allows us see our progress.
-
To check our blindness, we need a coach.-Help us to avoid making the same mistakes again and again.
You have to do something different if you want a different outcome.
We try to do way too much—and set ourselves up to fail.
When I ask what they’ve tried to get back in shape, almost all of Some have even tried to go from no training or minimal training to a 5 or 7 days a week exercise program.
You can guess how many times they succeed. Never.
But they don’t answer me when I ask. “Why don’t you try training just 3x per week?”The answer is always the same:
“I don’t know if I can get back in shape with just 3x per week”.
I’m here to tell you that you can.
It’s possible to work out less than we used to and get in better shape than before—without getting hurt.

In fact, for years I’ve told people NOT to buy my programs because they had been out of I had been to the gym for a while and knew that the programs and the exercises were not appropriate for someone who is looking to get back into training.
There are many more. of Instagram “fitness experts” out there who will sell a program to anyone who wants one — but I’m not interested in selling a program that won’t get you the results you need.
So who is Foundations for—and who is it not for?The Foundations training program is right for you if:
