No email list. No traffic streams. No social media followers.

No influence over anyone in the company. There are no products to sell. No market to sell to.

There are no websites that have been built. Nothing.

What would you do if you had nothing?

This question was asked by a subscriber recently. I responded to their questions five times.

This question stumped me. It’s a great question. It was a great question. I often forget how much struggle I had when I started.

Sometimes we get so involved in the details that it freezes. We believe that we must create our product. We need upsells. We need downsells.

Automated funnels that are complex and require automated emails. Massive ad budgets, split-Software testing and tracking.

This list could go on.

But, I was compelled to ponder all the crap I had mentioned earlier when I was asked this question last Wednesday.

If I had nothing, I would have to get rid of it all. Let’s just say that my goal was build a $10k/mo company as quickly as possible.
I wouldn’t use anything complicated
No split software or funnel software-Software testing or software tracking.

I would not waste my time creating products for others, with no upsells or downsells.

Instead, I would instead focus all of my energy, time, and money on one thing.

An email list. It’s the only. “sure thing” As a marketer I can trust. The same conviction is mine and I encourage you to share it.

Here’s why:

It is possible that we will all wake up tomorrow morning to see a news story about Facebook’s closure of its advertising platform. Google might follow suit one week later.

Perhaps laws are passed that prohibit online paid advertising. It is unlikely, but it is possible.

Only “sure thing” These assets are your assets. They can’t all be taken and can’t (for the most parts) be controlled.

Your email list? That’s YOURS. It is yours.

It took your sweat, blood, and tears to build it. Ain’t nobody gonna rip it outta your hands.

“How do I set up a website?”
