Overview
JavaScript is a programming language which can be used by all modern web browsers. It is installed alongside the HTML code. JavaScript, unlike HTML, can be used only to display content. JavaScript allows web developers to add functionality and interactivity.
What you will learn
The course will start by teaching JavaScript. First, we will learn how to write JavaScript inside an HTML tag. Then, we will see how JavaScript is written inside a HTML tag. <script> tag, and then finally in a file separate from the HTML document. We’ll discuss the benefits of each method.
We will then learn how to manipulate some basic data types. We’ll also learn how to perform simple arithmetic and look at JavaScript’s built-in features.-In mathematical abilities. Next, we’ll learn how to work with words and characters using a data type called the “string”. We’ll also discuss the Boolean Type, which represents True and False in a programming languages.
Next we will learn about more complex types. We will then learn about the array which is basically a list. How to create an array, access the elements within it, and how you can modify its contents will all be covered. The function will be covered as well, which will enable us to arrange code into simple, repeatable pieces. We’ll also be learning about objects, which allow us to group data and behavior together.
Then we will control flow. Then we will examine the. “if” statement that allows the script decide whether to execute a block based on a condition. We’ll also be looking at looping. Looping refers executing code blocks repeatedly until a condition has been met. Next, we’ll learn about errors and how to deal with them so that the script doesn’t stop running.
Next, we will be looking at the document Object Model ( DOM ). This is what allows JavaScript interact with the HTML code in a webpage. We’ll look at different ways to locate any HTML element on the page. We will then examine the information we can extract about that element (tag names, attributes, etc.). Learn how to add or remove elements from a webpage. The final lesson will cover events. These allow JavaScript react to mouse clicks and mouse movements, among other things.
The course will conclude with a practical project in which we’ll build a JavaScript.-A web page that is HTML-based. Most of the concepts in this course will be put into practice. We’ll be looking at validation of user input and how to show results.
Prerequisites
HTML: The student should be familiar with HTML tags and attributes. Only a very basic understanding is required of HTML.
Google Chrome (Recommended). Google Chrome is a web browser that’s free and will be available in the future.
This course contains all of the examples. Chrome is the best browser for JavaScript.-in developer tools. The course will make use of Chrome’s JavaScript console. This will allow us to quickly run small examples without having to create or edit files.
Notepad++ (Recommended). Notepad++ is an open-source, free program that allows you to create and edit notes.-source text editor. JavaScript can be written with any text editor. HTML and JavaScript can be written using any text editors. Notepad++ is highly recommendable because of features like syntax highlighting, autocomplete and autosave.-complete.
