A Note from Your Speaker
I have a memory of working as a psychotherapist in non-profit organizations.-profit HMO, seeing client after client. They were panicked, anxious.-Attack prone or simply unable to handle stress. They had tried to see doctors with limited success. I could not help them. I got stuck in a rut that focused on symptoms and didn’t treat them as individuals.
I was desperate to find something better for my clients and me, so I went to a meditation class. The teacher was dynamic, confident, and energetic. After just one session, I felt more awake, more able to handle stress, and more attentive to my clients.
Jon Kabat, a kind and caring instructor, was the inspiration.-Zinn, the founder Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
It was thirty years ago. Jon Kabat has been helping us every step of the way.-Zinn, these are the principles that I learned in that Worcester yoga class. They have helped me transform my life, and my practice. Jon was my instructor and I started my own practice. My clients were beginning to experience amazing results. I felt confident and energetic in my clinical work.
In 1995, I was also diagnosed with cancer. I was put into Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Test it and get firsthand experience-Hand how to deal with the stress and pain of chemotherapy, and all that comes with a stem-cell transplant.
This evidence is based on my clinical and personal experience.-Mindfulness has been developed using a mindfulness-based approach.-Emory University, University of Massachusetts Medical Center and Dana Farber Cancer Institute provide bone marrow transplantation services.
