Materials creation

To create realistic renders, you need to have a good grasp of Maxwell’s material editor. The order in which the parameters are listed is not important. I use a logic approach to explain them. You will learn how to make a variety of materials including layer blending, mixing materials and emitters, as well as many other techniques.

Channels, Post-production, Network rendering

I’ll go through some of Maxwell’s channels and show you how you can render and combine a typical render with shadows and reflections against an arbitrary background. This is the post-The production chapters will provide a quick guide on how to modify the render using Adobe Camera Raw. A more thorough example will then be provided using Smart Objects and Photoshop custom alphas. There will also be a detailed look at gamma and some important tips about Network rendering.
