I was born with the typical skinny genes. My highest weight at 6’6″ was 148 lbs. All I wanted was to be a. âbig guyâ. In June 2008, I was tired of being skinny so I started to build muscle. So I Try it To start weightlifting.
Unfortunately, Things Didnât Go Too Well.
I was treated like an animal at every gym I went to. âcrippleâ. I was not allowed to train with the proper weights by any of my instructors. My right arm was kind of fragile and I guess they didnât want to be held liable in case I got injured while training or something.
This was the end of it because I knew I could handle it, but these bozos wouldnât give me a chance. After spending hours in the gym doing nothing, I was pissed. This got me thinking.

You see, ancient gladiators and warriors had amazing bodies long before weights were invented. So I started bodyweight training.
Unfortunately majority (if not all) of the bodyweight training programs around donât teach about muscle building. They focus on fat loss, conditioning, and getting. âleanâ. So that was me. âForget this crap. I need to build some real muscle.â
I did some research into how weightlifting was done in the past and began doing extensive research. I also spoke with a military relative. I squeezed every single detail from him as to the way they trained, what they did any whyâŠthe works.
I was soon able to use the techniques I had learned in the military and in the strongman era. It was easy to see the effects of these techniques on my body. I was quick to discern the truths and the bad information.
I was criticized for using bodyweight training to build muscle. After all, everyone says you canât build muscle without weights, right?
But I didn’t have anything to lose
I was already scrawny to start with so itâs not like anything was at risk here. Aside from that, the gym bozos never wanted to see a little skinny girl. âweirdoâ I had a weak arm. I really didnât have many other choices.
To be honest, I was a little nervous about it all. Was it a waste of my time? What if it didnât work? But I persevered and trained my dog like an animal. I experimented with techniques and protocols and then tweaked them.
The My first few weeks were horrible. I considered quitting. I persevered and continued to work. As the months passed, my anxiety turned quickly into excitement and shock.
