How to get into the top publications using a successful marketing strategy. I remember a list of publications that I wanted to write for when I started writing. These publications and newspapers are what inspired me when I felt defeated and down.
Mridu Khullar Relph – 30 Days & 30 Queries(*30*)
How to break into top publications with a marketing strategy that works(*30*)
When I began writing, there were many publications that I aspired for. These magazines and newspapers were what inspired me when I felt defeated and down. I’d read through the pages, I’d sit with a cup of tea in my hand and spend hours looking through their websites. I’d come up with dozens of ideas and pitch, pitch, pitch the hell out of them. I wrote for some people, but not for all.
I became more successful and was therefore more involved with work, my magazine dreams faded. I had credentials now, so I didn’t need to chase these publications like I had when I was new. Because I was too busy writing for clients, pitching to new markets was especially difficult.-To-Break-into ones like The New Yorker Oder National Geographic. Just never got it on my list. Pitch The New Yorker You should wait one year for the rejection.-You can mail your editor at a trade magazine to get a quick assignment, and a nice check within a month. I chose the latter option because hey, this is my profession and I’ve got to make money at it.
But it’s also my dream.
That’s how my personal 30 Days, 30 Queries Last year’s challenge saw incredible results.
I have four new clients total 30 I’d pitched. Two of these were $1 a Word markets, and I was able to get $5,000+ of work from them in the third quarter 2013. Six editors from six other publications, including publications like Parents, WiredAnd O, the Oprah magazineThey asked me to continue sending them more ideas. I now have a regular dialogue with them. I received personal rejections from eight other people, which I took to mean that they were open to me sending more pitches.
Now I’m ready to help you achieve the same results and that’s why I’ve decided to launch the 30 Days, 30 Queries e-course.
Here’s what you get when you take the e-course:
1. 30 Lessons delivered to your email-Mail daily. This will guide you step-by-step on how to send 30 In a month, you can send out query letters. I’ll also share tips with you on the best ways to write effective pitches that get more assignments and more money.
2. You have lifetime access to the 30 Days, 30 Queries Facebook group that will consist of all participants—current and former—of this e-course. This hub will allow you to interact with the other writers participating in the challenge, get support, cheer one another on, and set goals. You can also count on me to help you navigate the challenge and answer any questions.
3. There are dozens of sample query letters. A selection of the best is available.-You will find links to resources and paying markets that will simplify your marketing.
Where most writers will fall down when it comes to pitching is this: They don’t pitch enough and they don’t pitch effectively. In this course, I’m going to teach you to do both and I’m going to provide you with the support, motivation, and kicks up the ass that force you to get up, take action, and work with the numbers that produce real results.
