Hi, I’m Matt, the Music Business Fundamentals SMB tutor: The School of Music Business.
My career started as a music journalist. Later, I became a music business entrepreneur, music marketing specialist, and artist manager. My campaigns saw me run campaigns for a number of successful bands. This allowed me to work with photographers like Rankin, sign major international recording and publishing contracts, and lead headline tours in the UK, Europe and America. Today, I still lead campaigns that have earned millions of Spotify plays, international playlist support, and streaming chart entries. 2015 was my first year as the winner of the Music The BPI and UK Trade and Industry award Export For Growth for my work in developing UK artists overseas.
2018 saw me become an expert board member for Jump: The European Music Market Accelerator was co-funded in part by the Creative Europe Programme. It is designed to develop new business models for the music industry. We will continue to support some of the best music businesses around the globe from now through 2023. You will also see me at industry events like SXSW and Liverpool Sound City, Line 6 Next Conferences, MIL – Lisbon International. Music Networking and many other things. My passion is sharing my knowledge with new musicians and music business professionals.
