Designing Web Software design is very different from designing websites.

Web applications often have complicated interactions that must be simplified for users. This is not usually an issue on marketing websites. The main interactions consist of reading or watching content.
Task completion
Business software is only used for the purpose of helping people to complete their tasks. They have a job to complete and want to be done. This is why it is so important to design for the different flow options in order to make your user’s job as simple as possible.
