As I mentioned, my name is Ning Li.

The tale of how I became a direct response copywriter is one of the most bizarre and unlikely stories you’ll EVER hear

… yet I give you my word, it is 100% true.

In it, there’s a critical lesson you need if you ever want to Copywriting can make you a lot of money.

I, like most people, followed the traditional route that was laid out for me by society… and by my stereotypical Asian parents.

I got good grades (nearly all A’s)…

I went to A university of the Ivy league (Cornell, on ice-cold upstate New York…)

I got a graduate degree in teaching, after finishing a Master’s in 4 years.

By the age of 26, I had a steady job as a high school biology teacher in Cortland New York.

It was then that I realized…

Man, the “real world” isn’t
all it’s cracked up to be!

Actually, you might even agree. “real world” jobs kinda SUCK!

I was a high school biology teacher. to Each day, get up at 6:00 AM.

I worked with parents who were very tight and stressed about administration.

I busted my ass day after day…

Completely exhausted and without energy at 6pm, I return home. to Do not eat anything else than food and get up.

Only to Do it every day, then count the days to the weekend. There I would have two precious days. to Truly, live your life.

This is my reward!

Or, to put it another way, I was so broke I ate ramen every evening to Save money.

I began waking up terrified that I’d blink
and one day I’d be 50 years old wondering where
The hell that was my life

“This couldn’t be all there is to life,” I was thinking.

I thought I was at my lowest point… but then the UNTHINKABLE happened.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in rapid succession. My girlfriend then left me.

I reached rock bottom.

I was 27 years old… hadn’t done anything useful with my life…

And I was alone, broke, depressed, and absolutely hated the job I was stuck in.

I felt like a total failure.

I googled out of desperateness. “how to make money on the side.”

I fell down a deep rabbit hole… and out of the other side I found internet marketing.

It was mind.-Blowing to me that anyone could actually make money on the internet…

The more I read, I learned more:

If you wish to make money on the internet, there’s ONE
essential skill that’s more valuable than anything else

… and that’s copywriting.

The ability to Use words to persuade.

Copywriting is the fuel that drives any business to make money online.

So that’s what I started pouring all my time and energy into.

And to be honest, I didn’t get very far at first.

It was a mistake I made that is now the most common error I see in copywriting classes:

I’d read many books and taken courses, but I didn’t know how to use them. to translate that into actual paying clients…

Luckily, here’s where the story gets a little weird.

The universe seems to have given me a hand, you see. Because…

I had no clue who he was or why he was helping me…

I came across a podcast on copywriting and interviewed the man.

I realized… Oh shit, this guy is actually a big deal!

His name was Dan Ferrari.

He’s written massive, internet-Agora Financial, Green Valley, and many other large direct response businesses were able to break their controls.

He’s widely considered to You are one of the most talented copywriters currently on the planet.

That was the beginning a mentorship that continues to this day to today.

He sent me an email that made a huge difference in my life, just a few minutes later.

The email stated simply:

“Hey dude. Do you want to make some money?”
My answer?

Emphatic “YES.”

Dan began to share his secrets with me from that summer to Copywriting and freelance writing

And that’s how I got where I am today.

I thank God every day that I found copywriting…

I was able to do it because I had the strength to Keep trying, no matter what I’ve been through.
