JINXED’s seven performances are performed with strangers in the streets or at venues in Greece. The explanations for the effects can be found back at Titanas Magic and Vangelis Haralampous.

You can easily break down the DVD. “play all” Or, you can view each effect individually. If you choose to “play all” This viewing will include the introduction as well as the prologue. Each trick has explanations beyond a simple description. “how to” But there’s more to it “behind the scenes” Theories about Peter’s craft and how he’s arrived at his ideas. Behind the scenes discussions include: building confidence, the gypsy peek, multiple outs, be bold, invisible force, updating the old, combining methods, versatility, peeks, mixing principles, Annemann plot, slate #1, slate #2 and more…..

Volume 1

0. Prologue – (15:09) Peter Vangelis and Vangelis discuss the Titanas set. Peter He explains his expectations for the DVD set, and his admiration for Theodore Annemann. The thing with these tricks on JINXED is – you’re basically learning how Peter These are the classics. So don’t expect to “learn” These DVDs contain some amazing new techniques. These effects account for 90% of all the magic. “reason” What do they look and feel like? “magic” It is Peter’s presentation and his ability to work with strangers.

So, the excitement of buying these DVDs is usually to see what they have in store for you. “how” and you’re hoping the “how” We are here to help. Peter isn’t giving you new “how” His approach is to show you how he views the effects, and perhaps some of the other things you might have overlooked. “outdated” Or “un doable.”

For Peter it’s not about “how” It is not something he does, but it is what he is doing. “why” he’s doing it and how it relates back to his performance.

In all fairness – I bet some people will be disappointed that there aren’t more earth-These are shocking revelations. It is important to examine the content carefully. Peter This is what I am trying to convey – it is a reason to go back to the books on your bookshelf. Peter All that is left behind and you are asked to ask “why did this work -THEN – and how could it work now?” What is the “thing” Behind THE THING

In a Karl Fulves book, I once read a routine by a mentalist where the Magi leaves the room and goes into a bedroom to close a door so his house guests can choose an object from a random list. You can read the entire article here. “secret” The Magi looked through the keyhole to see what was happening. “item” The room was chosen by the guests. I could ignore that effect and just say “well, house doors don’t have keyholes you can see through anymore.” True, but… what’s the principle? It’s possible to have a way of doing things. “spy” in the room. What would we do in today’s culture? Get a Nanny Cam! Install a hidden camera with a feed that goes straight to your bedroom.

The last thing is that these tricks require mentalism as well as the mind.-Reading – these effects are more for the walk-around, or the table-hopper magician, and is not for someone who does magic only for friends and families.

1. A Question and an answer (Performance 9.27/Explanation 17.31) / a hybrid form Practical Mental Effects. Peter Receives a written response that is sealed in a stack.

Review: masterful in Peter’s hand, Peter Combines a cold-A divining method that uses a “secret” Most beginning mentalists know this already.

2. Life Equation (Performance 6.02 / Explanation 26:18) Using a cell phone calculator, the spectator will be guided through a series special numbers in order to arrive at a personal integer which is then predicted by the magician.

Review: A hybrid from 202 Methods of Forcing. Another familiar method. I think this trick was in my very first beginner’s magic book from the 1950s. (Simple Tricks for the Young Magician by Green) Like the previous effect – you’re learning Peter’s routine and watching how a master crafts these classics for the modern age.

3. Rosie Red (Performance 2.43 / Explanation 47.05) This is a slate prediction effect which requires an audience.

Review: A reworking an effect from Practical Mental Effects. I admit that this was what I did when I learned. Peter’s method for this effect, it was kind of a let down – it’s not an effect I would do – but what I loved was the explanation after the explanation. Volume 2

1. Finger Finger (Performance 4:37 / Explanation 12:41) an impromptu number guessing game.

Review: A variation of the effect from The Jinx. At first it doesn’t feel like a “trick” And Peter does not sell it as such, more than it’s a way to build rapport with a spectator. If it does, it’s huge.

2. Cigarette Divination (performance 2.37 / Explanation 17.02.2) The spectator takes a random number of cigarettes, and you can see how many they have taken.

Review: This variation on The Jinx was originally done with matches. It is a great foresight effect anyone who uses cigarette magic or bar magic will immediately incorporate into their routine.

3. A Lock and Keys (performance 4:12 / Explanation 14:11). Peter guesses a spectator’s written cellphone unlock key from a series of cards.

Review: Peter’s take on Anneman’s “Seven Keys to Baldpate” & Henry Fischer’s “Lock and Keys.” A cell phone trick adopting an old method that was invented before the telephone was invented.

4. A Slate, a Number (performance 24.10/ Explanation 7.12) Peter This is performed with three spectators who divinate numbers, birthdays and pictures.

Review: Practical Mental Effects has a passed-over effect. Peter You can create a beautiful routine with a group of people. This will make you a better mental savant.

My recommendation: Buy the book “Practical Mental Effects” This DVD should be used in conjunction with it.

I’ve been a big Peter Turner I have been a huge fan of the author for about a year and have bought several of his books as well as one DVD set. Jinxed The price was quite high. Peter Creative and original thinker. He combines multiple methods with very clever presentations. Some of the effects are in Jinxed Looks very contrived especially on disc 2. Not as natural-sounding as earlier releases (Devil in Disguise). The lyrics are actually quite interesting. Peter Turner Penguin lecture is far more effective and has better effects.

Annemanns work is worth looking at. It still works and the routines are fine. The peeks are fascinating but nothing new. Peter Turner talks too much and mixes stock reading, astrology…,many words, sorry thats too much, his earlier releases were much stronger, especially Devil in disguises,
I’m sorry to write this, I think he is a likeable and charismatic person but less is more!

Personal experience with a Peter Turner Fan for a very long time. Jinxed IMO is simply brilliant! Peter He has a knack for finding real world material that is a treasure trove of gold. He equips you and me with the tools we need to get out and KILL in real life. This has been my favorite purchase this year. Make sure you get it before they run out! Trust me you won’t regret it!!

It was a wonderful purchase. I have a few of Pete’s products that are limited and there’s always something that blows my mind. This product is packed with practical, useful effects and it feels just like the real thing.

For serious mentalists:

First off i’d like to say that i own freeform mentalism by pete and none of the material is repeated on these dvds. there is a lot of stuff on here that is modern(even though it’s annemans material)and will work in the real world. You can also use many of these effects to get women. I know it sounds corny, but if you want to stand out from the crowd, this is a great way.

these dvds, i would give an easy, and well deserved 5* rating but that mountain of a price is just absurd . This dvd retails for $90. For that price, it should be on blue-ray and be personally signed by pete…

Let me start by saying that I already own most of Pete’s work and that I am a big fan of his take on mind reading. The effects on the DVD are great but I mostly enjoyed Pete and Titanas talk as I think that’s when you really learn how to be a better performer and maybe a better person as well lol. Thank you! Peter Turner’s material is always great but the Jinxed This DVD set is a breakthrough. He teaches many amazing effects with each nuance. Even his casual comments are a gold mine. This is a great video. It’s hard to believe anyone would not want it. This limited edition would be my choice.

WOW! Peter Turner It happens again! Every time I think I know what I’m doing… Peter Turns around and says “Wait, there’s more.” This DVD set is fantastic. This DVD has many great effects. This product is highly recommended. I recommend this product highly. Peter Turner It is out.

You might find it helpful to read some of his books in order to understand how he thinks. The effects are all proven and tested!!
