Reinhard Gamenthaller – Kundalini Yoga Mahamudra
Reinhard Gammenthaler was the final student of Swami Dhirendra Prahmachari. After years of preparation in West Africa and Switzerland, he arrived in Delhi in 1988 to learn all the ancient pranayama techniques outlined in the yoga shastra. Dhirendra Brahmachari had closed all his Indian ashrams one year earlier in 1987 because he couldn’t find a suitable disciple or successor from the many teachers and visitors to his ashrams. Reinhard He was a great yogi and showed great dedication. The guru sent him to Aparna Ashram in a remote valley of Indian Kashmir. There he practiced and lived in complete isolation. There, he learned many subtle, often unknown, techniques and aspects about pranayama, mudra, and svara. The next years of empirical research were exciting and sometimes dangerous, and culminated in “diksha”, the initiation by his guru at Naina Devi Mandir on a mountain near village Mantalai (J & K). He was advised to take care all that he had learned and continue the work by his guru. He did exactly that, and he continued his sadhana even after the death of his master in 1994. He began to teach yoga after the millenium and completed the two books by Dhirendra Brahmachari, with a third section about mudras and pranayama. The publication of the “Kundalini Yoga Parampara”The comprehensive guide to Hatha philosophy and practice. Yoga He gave his deepest respect to his guru’s immortal legacy and to the saints & yogis of the past.
