I still recall the times when I was struggling as an independent contractor.
I didn’t have many clients. I didn’t have enough money so I started door-to-door food delivery.
I was trying to offer both video creation and web design services, but I was only making about $800. Truthfully, I didn’t know what to offer my clients that they would actually be willing to pay for. Although I was well-versed in a lot of marketing strategies and tactics, how could I get paid for them all?
It took me five years to fully understand digital marketing and the needs of clients. In the end, they needed help in generating leads and converting them into customers.
A proper marketing funnel was essential. They needed a way for strangers to learn about them, like them, and trust them enough that they would make a purchase. They needed more traffic-generating material.
Digital marketing is difficult because people often use the wrong tactics at the wrong times.
Because they don’t know where their customers are in the buyer’s journey, copywriting and advertising on Facebook fall apart.
My greatest asset was my ability to help clients design, build and optimize their marketing channels. This was a powerful service that I discovered in this era.
