We collaborated with a guitar innovator and prolific composer Joey Santiago (lead guitarist, The Pixies) to create a library of beautifully distorted filth — the bedrock of The Pixies’ epic sound – with extra warped content from the Spitfire team. Recorded in Los Angeles, re-This library, which was both mutated and amphetized in London, is a well-travelled treasure trove of the coolest sounds you’re likely to find in any sample library.
Joey Santiago Multi-purpose Guitars are available.-Sampled guitars, recorded by and performed Joey Through his legendary board and his many-Toured amp rig, re-amped back in London’s legendary Pool Studios. You can also multitask.-We also sampled virtual instruments and captured hours of JoeyThis is shredding, gating and twisting it, making it raw material for new sonic adventures. This was finally taken to Spitfire Audio founder and composer Christian Henson’s studio on the edge of an extinct volcano in Scotland for further sound-bending.
Use our Mercury Synth and eDNA engines for your choice of amp. This is a tool that will inspire musicians of all genres, including media composers and producers.
Our next logical step was to work with legendary rock guitarists, such as Roger Taylor (Queen) and Matt Sorum(Guns n Roses), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Matt Sorum (“Guns n Roses”), and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers). It was not the goal to create a ‘virtual’ guitar — although there are multi-sampled instruments in the library — but to create an environment where Joey’s rich sound world could be captured authentically.

GUIs
The Overview Panel
This is the interface used to play melodic instruments. This default view displays all possible playing techniques and has a simple mixer.
General Controls Panel
This view allows for further introspection-Depth control of the instrument. This includes all available signals and feature controllers. You can also purge memory techniques to reduce system usage.
The Ostinatum
This view allows you to add notes to a sequencer and select the key that triggers it. Then, play for instant ostinato creation. It’s like an arpeggiator on a synthesiser.
eDNA Engine
This interface hosts our sample-synthesiser engine. It allows you to combine two sound and then modulate them with envelopes and filters.-FX.
Mercury Synth
The user interface is clever and features a variety of organic sounds as well as specially curated warped sound effects. You can assign all of the controls to your control surface so you can instantly create your own sounds.
