Great Presence Training
The failsafe method for confident & enthralling public speaking & personal communication
At the heart of being able to speak confidently in public (and in person) is to make it feel as if the conversation is one to one, from your heart to the heart of whoever’s listening to you, no matter how many in number.
That way you strike an empathic resonance – each person in the audience, or the individual you’re with, feels you speaking directly to them – and provided all other relevant factors are in place – striking the congruent tone of voice, body movement and stance, being clear about your message, and so on, everyone comes away feeling better and more beautiful for being seen and communed with, no matter how prosaic or challenging the situation.
Great Presence It is all about being in control, not only of what you want, but also how you present yourself to the world.
A recent survey found a notable percentage of people would rather find themselves in the casket than have to give the eulogy at a funeral – everyone fears public speaking – but at some point in your life you’re likely to be called upon to give an address of some sort – best man speech, 50th birthday speech – a presentation, a pitch – you probably have some sort of public presentation coming up soon you’re scared or nervous of doing.
You might have an interview or a difficult conversation.
And if the thought of having that important or difficult conversation – the interview for that job you want badly, a personal negotiation with someone close, at work with a tricky colleague, or socially, let alone having to give a best man or woman speech, give a business presentation, or speak to the Queen – one where you want the best possible outcome for all concerned –
This is the right place for you
What I’m going to teach you about public speaking will help you equally with presentations at work, interviews, or whenever you’re required to parade, display, reveal yourself or put yourself on show. What we’re addressing here is in fact performance.
Performance is literally performing in a form to bring it to life. It could be a play or a film.-A script can be a presentation, speech or even a difficult personal conversation.
18 years later, the in-depth sessions we’ll address performance anxiety and cover all the requisite elements of having successful conversations whether they be one-To-One or all-To-many. We’ll cover:
Theatricality
Life is theater – it’s all a show – a great trick of the light. Public speaking is one type of theater. Your role is entertainment, which basically means you hold the space open for all. It’s an act of service and a privilege. This must be done with honor.
Amazing presence
Everyone wants Great Presence – they may not realize it consciously, but it’s why people party, why people drink, why people buy themselves things they don’t really need, why people congregate and connect, why people meditate and pray of course.
Intention: How important is it?
You’re serving your fellows, by inducing them to feel better about themselves – this is a major key to overcoming your fear of public speaking – you’re not there for you, you’re there for them.
Eliminating fear and phobias
The fear of public speaking, or revealing yourself, is essentially the fear of other people, Everyone’s afraid of each other. We pretend we’re not because that’s how a society works – the willingness to trust or at least make a pretense of trust. All animals fear each other.
Being funny
You can’t be funny if you don’t care about everyone else. When you’re relaxed in your skin, when you’re enjoying the thrill of addressing people, your natural innate sense of humor about the divine comedy of life will spontaneously inform everything you say anyway, and if humor is required in the moment it will flow forth of itself.
Your message should be yours
There are many ways to communicate your message clearly, confidently, and enjoyable to your audience.
These are just a few. All the other aspects can be found below.

Consider how much better you would feel if you had
full command of your mind and what it was you wanted to say, full command of your vocal tone, your cadence, your tempo, your face, your facial expression, your posture, your body language… self-confidence and held yourself in sufficiently high esteem… you’d be part of the way there – and the Great Presence Training will help you achieve this. To reach your full potential as communicator, you need to be able to quickly gain clarity on the message, think clearly, communicate effectively, and can engage their audience. The remaining ingredients are understanding your power of intention, your function and role as communicator and the roles of your listener/audience, and, perhaps most importantly, being present. You will also learn this through the training.
You can follow the carefully considered steps-You will be a great communicator and a great public speaker if you follow the prescribed sequence.
The chances are then that you’ll catch the communicating bug and rather than shy away from any form of public speaking, however large or small the audience, or away from difficult conversations of any sort, you’ll relish every opportunity similarly to how a great conductor might relish every opportunity to conduct a great orchestra playing a great concerto or symphony. This alone will open up new avenues for you and give you brighter, more exciting prospects.
Other aspects of presence and elements required for public speaking effectiveness
Take control of your posture
Imagine a broken trumpet. No one would be able get a tone from you. Or imagine a beautiful painting like Picasso or Matisse, but the frame was bent and twisted. It distorts the painting so much that no one can see it as a masterpiece. It’s exactly the same when you need to express yourself.
Breathing
It’s the breath that supports the sound of your voice, just as if playing a trumpet, so the more command you have of it, the more command you have of your voice – many people fear public speaking in case they lose command of their voice and sound daft, weak or tremulous. Your breathing is the most important thing when it comes to vocal sound.

Relaxation
Unresolved childhood traumas, however minor, can build up in your connective tissue, causing stiffness and rigidity in your muscles. Hardness is an unconscious way to protect yourself from more pain. It’s akin to wearing a suit or armor.
Your whole body should be covered
It is my favorite technique. It helps you solve the biggest problems by not trying to sort them out. This allows them to do what they do best: sorting themselves out. But it’s tricky to remember at first because it’s subtle and not spectacular so there’s various useful techniques to help you.
Observe from the rear brain
The rear-Your brain is your repository for all of your extra-It is the seat of intuition and sensory powers. It’s the seat of wisdom and pure consciousness. It’s the perfect vantage point from which to bear witness to your performance so you can remain fully in command all the while.
Open heartedness
This is important when you’re standing there in front of your audience, even if it comprises just one person, because love is the envelope in which your mutual experience occurs, and it’s this that transforms what would otherwise be a half-From a simple affair to something special, it can turn into a heartfelt one.
Facing your audience
The part of you you use to face your audience is your face – that’s why it’s called that or vice versa, why we call it facing an audience. The state of your face will greatly influence how you perform that task – not in aesthetic or cosmetic terms but rather in terms of how relaxed or open your face is.
Your voice
Your message is the tune. Your voice is your instrument. Tone is the most important aspect of any tune. If people like the tone, and more importantly if you like the tome as you’re hearing it in your ears, you’re most of the way there already.
Body message, audience congruence
Apart from your posture, how you hold your body, and the way that you use your hands to express yourself can have a direct impact on the reception of your message by the audience.
You claim the venue, auditorium, or stage and all the space and time.
This is psychological. This is not a way to feel like an intruder, interloper or a nuisance.-To-One conversation, claim the venue or room, and claim the time-Time frame during which the event is taking place.
Performance technique
Step by step-By-Step protocol is similar to the way cabin crews follow a set protocol on a flight.

Confidence, charisma
People mystify the notions of confidence and charisma, to themselves and to others – you’ll learn the true meaning of both and that the key to both lies not in doing something, but in not doing something. Specifically, not getting in the path of either.
Why learn public speaking & personal communication with Barefoot Doctor?
Taoist medicine doctor, teacher, Taoist meditation teacher, creator of online trainings, books, sound healing music for home, and dance instructor-floor use, occasionally perfume, live event experiences and so on, I’ve made it my business to master and practice the Taoist Five Excellences (more about them in the training itself) entailing not only formulating my message, but delivering it, and as such I’ve been required to do thousands of public speaking and performance events over the decades.
I was not a natural at the beginning. I was rather shy and self-conscious.-My delivery was awkward and awkward. Even though I was passionate about the subject and had an innate drive for happiness, it was difficult to deliver the message.-I was motivated to train seriously by this factor.
So in 1983 I spent 18 months working with the now defunct but then thriving and Actors’ Institute of New York run by the utterly brilliant Dan Fosse, not specifically for public speaking or acting, but to acquire the inner game of the seasoned pro, and to gain lots of experience presenting to a crowd.
More importantly, however, I was able then to place this training onto a Taoist template so I was able then to teach it anyone. I have seen many miraculous transformations in people who went from being a wallflower to a great orator. I’ve found the knack of introducing people to the great presence within them and then showing them how to project that to an audience.
In my own public speaking process I’ve developed my own unique style over the decades, generally not working from scripts, but simply knowing where I want to go and ad-libbing, extemporizing, improvising, and though I continue to derive a huge thrill each time I step up to the mike, I rarely experience nerves and if I do am able to settle them before I’ve spoken my first sentence.
I’m able to hold a crowd rapt for three hours or more if required, which I often am.
And I’m able to pass all these secrets onto you now, in an orderly, methodical way, so that in less than three weeks you’ll be able to take to any stage and deliver a world-You can give class talks or speeches like a pro.
But, remember that gatherings of more than one person, regardless of their overt reasons, are primarily intended to create at least a brief moment of communion. Great Presence Informing all of these and us. No matter the content of your message, even if it’s a business presentation about the most mundane matter, even if it’s a challenging personal one-To-one conversation, the real reason any of us are brought together is the chance we’ll somehow manage to elicit a moment of communion with the Great Presence. It is a great thing when this happens. Everyone benefits, not only you but all those who helped facilitate it.
