Steve Roye – Killer Stand Up Comedy System
It is so satisfying to me that this product addresses all the issues I had with other books on stand.-before I bought the product, I had read up comedy and comedy writing. Killer Stand-Up System. You can find out my findings here.-Continue reading to find comedy secrets that you can use to improve your comedy act.
What I’m going to do is write a review about it first, then over a series of future posts track my progress in actually putting the techniques into action and monitoring the results.
This guide is the best investment I’ve made in my online career. This guide is best if you have 3 years of classical acting training. But not just. I’m kidding, mum.
I have previously spoken about how many books I have read about comedy writing and delivery, and how it helped me learn to stand.-Comedy is a great thing, but this one takes it to the next level.
What’s in it?
This book contains everything you need to know about performing and writing stand.-Comedy is a great way to make people laugh. We were too afraid to ask. (I had no choice but to).
The way this product is organized is amazing. It provides context for the author’s writing. We get the author’s background and how he struggled as a new comic and then how he eventually went on to become a highly paid comedian in a short space of time. This really resonated for me.
There’s also a bit of a history lesson too telling you where the Killer Stand-Up System The lives of comedians and how they differ from other books and guides on comedy writing.
Steve also provides many war stories from his own experiences, so you get the feeling that you’re not alone with what you may go through once you’re out there.
There were audio clips that featured interviews with comics at the time of writing. You can also hear excerpts from them. Steve’s own gigs. There’s something like 60 multimedia clips. It involves you in the process.-Make fun of it.
Here’s what you actually get…
Two major guides for comedy writing and comedy performing. These two books are worth the investment. They are both extremely detailed and very exhaustive. The combined total of 556 pages is impressive. I would find enough. (Editor’s note, this course has now be broken down further and is all online as opposed to the two large eBooks that I originally bought).
You will also receive a guide called: “Street Joke Secrets for Professional Comedians”. This article discusses the advantages of being able source and edit street humor. This article explains how to use them in your acts and in which markets.
Finally, I have to mention one of my favorite bonuses: “The Comedy Evaluator Pro”. This software will show you how funny your material really is. It offers a minute-by-minute analysis of your content.-By-A quick analysis and guidance on how to improve your act. (Editor’s note, this was featured in the documentary “I Am Comic”).
This book is primarily concerned with the uptake of technology.–It is a great way to learn stand-up comedy and become a professional comedian.-Comedy is a great way to get your laugh on. The comedy veteran can use these techniques as well. These techniques can also be readily applied to professional speaking if that’s your thing.
The many ways an up-grade can be made is what this guide doesn’t address.–A performer can market and promote themselves online and offline.-line. This is, in retrospect, a good thing.
It also doesn’t discuss any of the global comedy festivals either, such as “The Edinburgh Fringe” Scotland “Just For Laughs” Canada “The Melbourne International Comedy Festival” Australia
The benefit to it not including that information is that there are more pages that focus on the writing and performance of comedy material. This is something that a lot of books about comedy writing seem to lack.
That is definitely a good thing because, as I said, some of the other comedy books that I’ve read don’t spend nearly enough time on writing and performing and jump right into writing sitcoms, comedy spec scripts and one-Man shows.
I would give my opinion on where to begin learning stand if someone asked me.-I believe they should start with The to make comedy or develop material as a comedian speaker. Killer Stand-Up System.
