I believe we can all agree on the fact that drones can create amazing footage that used to be only possible for Hollywood. The possibilities of shots that we didn’t even imagine are possible are now available to everyone. Drone pilots as well as filmmakers need to seize this opportunity.
Stewart & Alina Carroll – Drone Cinematography Masterclass 2.0
You can make the leap from drone-owner to drone cinematographer.
It seems that drones can create amazing footage that was only possible a few years back, and that this is something that we can all agree on. The possibility of shots that we didn’t even know were possible is now available to everyone. We must grab this opportunity with both our hands as filmmakers and drone pilots. But audiences have become much more sophisticated in distinguishing between different types of aerial imagery as TV, social media, YouTube, and cinema flood us with them. “just a drone shot” Beautiful aerial cinematography. This masterclass builds on years of filmmaking experience that dates back before drones were invented. It teaches you how to create stunning aerial cinematography using a five-step framework. No matter if you are a novice pilot or a veteran, this masterclass will help you become a better pilot and filmmaker. It draws on our many years of experience both as drone cinematographers, and as filmmakers. This course contains hundreds of examples from our work around Spain, Greece, Iceland, and Spain. In the section on aerial film studies, we examine dozens of Hollywood examples. We then compare our work to theirs and identify the repeatable strategies that can be used to imitate cinematography.-Your drone can grade your work. We have created a beautiful, inspiring course as the owners and operators of a commercial production company.

You need to be able to tell the difference between the rest, whether you’re looking to make a living with your drone business or simply enjoy the hobby. You have already taken the first step to becoming a drone owner. You need to be even more to make your mark. You need to have a basic level of pilot skill. This masterclass will cover everything you need. You will go from drone owner to drone pilot. You must, secondly, but more importantly, see the world as a filmmaker. We will teach you how to THINK like filmmakers. You will be able to work independently as a cinematographer by the end of the course. Every drone shoot will be different, so it is important to plan accordingly. “painting by numbers” Approach to filmmaking simply doesn’t cut the mustard. The course ends with a shot list that you can practice, which is undoubtedly an invaluable learning tool. If you want to stand out in the crowd, this course must be combined with a solid understanding of filmmaking principles.
Our favorite part of the course is learning from Hollywood’s aerial cinematography.
You will learn how to tell stories by using suspense in your art. Layering your compositions will give you depth and interest, drawing the eye of your audience through the frame. We will show you how MOTION can be added to a shot to enrich the story, not just because you can. Everything you need to know and how it affects what you want to accomplish on a given day is covered in this course. Additionally, we analyze COMPOSITION and show you how to use fundamental principles to enrich the story that you tell with your work.

“Thank you Stewart & Alina! I must admit I’ve been flying about 3 years now and I was thinking twice about watching this course but I’m really glad I did. I’ve managed to take some good shots across the years but probably more bad ones because I’ve never taken the time to sit back and try to understand WHY the good ones are good. So when I watched the section about the 5 step framework to creating stunning aerial cinematography things really clicked into place.”

What is the best course of action?
Original launch in April 2018, our first iteration. Masterclass It was a huge success in terms of sales as well as feedback. We began to rebuild the website in 2019, however. Masterclass It all started from scratch and this is what we present to you today. Masterclass 2.0. The entire course was re-taught.-Written and rewritten-We filmed the film and built on it, launched Masterclass 2.0 Mitte-2019. This is an incredible piece of work. It was filmed with the greatest production value and was structured with such precision that each minute adds to the value of your journey as aerial filmmakers.
The course is designed to allow for regular updates if necessary. This course covers timeless concepts that aren’t drone- or technology-specific. If this course needs to be updated in the future, we will.
You can take the course for beginner or expert drone operators. This course is fast and easy to suit the needs of all students.-paced, intensive education. Novices will need to watch sections again or pause to check their progress.

“THANK YOU! This was a fantastic course and a good eye opener to thinking differently. Your movement through the material was excellent and even though I have a lot of experience, you revealed many new ideas and new, refreshing ways to think about drone flying and cinematography. I particularly like the idea of using 5 measurable elements (Suspense, Depth, Motion, Light and Composition) to stimulate a mindset that can be more creative and purposeful in planning a single flight.”
Russell D. Schundler
Are drones necessary to take advantage of this course?
No! We will tell you the truth…we aren’t that interested in drones! It’s true! The drone gives us a new perspective on the sky. We don’t have a gear obsession and are certainly not gear freaks. Many of the best images we have captured were taken years ago with our Phantom 2+ GoPro 4 combo. This course is ideal for any drone that can take decent quality photos, and is stabilized on the gimbal.
The masterclass features a huge amount of drone footage from all over the globe.
We are filmmakers who have been around since before the invention of drones. This means that there is ALWAYS an ‘better’ camera. Our commercials and wedding work are shot with cameras that cost $1,500. But, if we could only afford the most recent camera with incredible low light capabilities that costs $5,000, then it would be a blessing! It’s not true! No! So we spent $100 on three lights and learned all we could about lighting. We learned how to create separation between the background and subject, and tell stories. We did not buy the $5,000 camera and we were able to elevate our film production skills. White Balloon Films is now one of the most popular UK wedding film businesses.
Don’t get too obsessed with the latest drones. As we built this course, one thing became very clear to us: the vast majority of aerial cinematography that comes out of Hollywood is extremely simple. Although there is motion from the drone, and perhaps a tilt or rotation, the beauty of the shot comes down to the suspense created by not showing the subject in the first frames, the creative decision of pointing the camera towards the sun or away from it, and the depth created when layers are added between the camera, subject, and the composition. This is how you can be a drone photographer and drone owner.

“Thanks Stewart & Alina! Anyone who has done editing will realise how much time and effort has gone into creating such a comprehensive course. It was structured very logically and is easy to follow with lots of real-world examples. Like others have said, I particularly liked the 5 element ranking methodology to improve each shot. As with photography, the more you practise a way of seeing, the more you tend to do it automatically.”
– Mark Kelly
Why would I have to pay for a course when drones can fly by themselves?
True, a drone is a flying object. “flies itself” The drone can do these things, but it is not the most accurate sense.
Examine the light conditions to determine the best direction or time of day to fly.
You can identify unwanted objects and position yourself accordingly to eliminate them from the shot.
Please tell us what is the best cinematic composition for the subject that you are trying to film.
You can find incredible locations to take your drone pictures before you even leave your house.
Create depth in your scene by finding ways to add depth.
Choose the right camera motion to transform a simple shot into a story-Telling masterpiece.
Use the story-A clever way to make your audience feel anxious and impress your clients.
We will provide you with the foundation and framework to make this masterclass second nature.-nature. You can also be engaged in non-profit activities.-Drone film work? Then our course is great value, as most of what we discuss are not drone footage-Specific, but rather an analysis of filmmaking ideas that date back to the early days.

“Thank you for this course! I’m struggling to write anything tangible because I’m still mind blown! Just incredible and your YouTube videos complement the course in so many ways. Having only owned a drone for about 3 weeks I’m excited to putting my new mindset as a film maker into practise. What I love about this course is that it is well segmented and because of that I’m able to refer back to individual videos to help me progress my skills in bitesize chunks. It’s not a one-off course, but material to refer to for life.”

Isn’t YouTube the best place to find all of this information?
Nope! Our YouTube masterclass is the only one that we know of. Our YouTube channel is the closest thing you’ll find. Drone Film Guide. Drones are the reason. “expert” The drone enthusiast is the most common person we see online, with filmmakers second. You can find a lot of drone reviews online, videos showing best settings, drone comparisons videos, and other useful information. However, many people who have mastered the technical aspects of drones are not as knowledgeable when it comes down to what you should do with your drone once it’s in your possession.
For Alina We are the exact opposite. While we love making films and getting maximum out of our drones, we are less interested in the technical aspects of droning than (a) how best to capture the best cinematic images and (b) how the drone can be controlled for the best cinematic movement. We believe that the YouTube channel’s success is due to its unique approach to drones. All of what we share is supported by years as drone operators as well as filmmakers. This gives us the confidence and credibility to create a course worth paying for. This masterclass is all about us. This course is the culmination of our passion and commitment. We are confident that your relatively small investment will pay off as you progress as a drone cinematographer. If you are not satisfied with our masterclass, we offer a 30-day refund. “Stewart & Alina, I wanted to thank you both for putting together this very well thought out, helpful course. I had been waiting anxiously ever since you first advised us of your plans to put this course together. The finished product did not disappoint. The idea of envisioning a result and using a drone as one of the tools to attain that result has made me think in a manner that will ultimately make my footage more cinematic and pleasing to watch. I used to fly with the camera on, hoping for great results. I now see that was my biggest problem. From now on I will fly to attain a desired result. Great job!”
