Instead, they leverage their influence to grow and sell more of their products or services and promote affiliate products in return for a portion of the profits.

Online marketing isn’t as easy as ‘gurus’ Many times, it is not as simple as it appears.

It is harder to get free traffic than ever before.  Google is continually adding more and more weight to large brands…and the little guys like us get squeezed out of the best keyword phrases in their index.

You could post an update on your Facebook page a few years ago and it would reach a large percentage of your audience.

This is not the case since the Reachpocalypse.  Recent research shows that large Facebook pages have an average organic reach of 2%.

It’s possible to beat these numbers, but Facebook is pushing us toward advertising.  This trend is sure to continue.

This is true for every social media platform.  Their investors are clamoring for profits…so they reduce your organic reach while expanding the ads.

Online advertising is not easy.

In a marketing study by Choozle, they found nearly one-Half of all consumers aged 60+ use ad blocking software!   What about younger tech-savvy generations?

In the same study, only 7% viewed online ads positively.

Advertising is becoming more expensive.

Adstage, for example, reported that the cost of advertising on Facebook has increased by 122% annually-Over-year.

If you’re following the same old marketing strategies everyone else has used for past several decades…it’s getting harder and harder to make it.

While traditional advertisers are in trouble, the next generation has emerged as social media influencers.

This is a person who has established credibility in front a large, hungry buyer audience.
