A Note from Tieraona:

My background is as a physician, but I was originally trained as a herbalist, midwife and massage therapist. The wisdom of grandmothers, midwives, indigenous peoples from these lands has deeply influenced me. I have learned to gather, prepare and use the healing plants, ease the body’s pain with massage, help women bring their babies into the world, and tend to the sick. I have witnessed life come into this world and leave it. I’ve sat quietly during ceremonies, taking in their mystery and wonder, witnessing the power of prayer and belief. I’ve watched as healers called upon the ancestors for strength and direction, assisted surgeons as they removed bullets and tumors, and transplanted organs, witnessed people near death in the intensive care unit walk out well a short time later, and just about everything in between.

All of these experiences, from the profoundly spiritual to the most medically advanced, have shaped my approach toward health and healing, and eventually led me to the field of integrative medicine – a discipline that melds effective natural healing methods, lifestyle, and medically proven treatments. This allows doctors to see the importance of restoring health and managing disease differently. Prescription drugs are not sustainable and it isn’t wise to continue to rely on them to help us concentrate, fall asleep, relieve our pain, soothe an upset stomach, fight minor infections, manage our bone strength, prevent a cold, or ease our anxiety.

Who should take this class?
“Foundations” It contains core material that is targeted towards health care professionals. The course is primarily focused on herbal medicine but relevant nutritional interventions and supplements are also discussed. I​n other words, we teach herbal medicine within an integrated and holistic framework.
What time does the course and end?
You can do it whenever you want! For those who wish to study in a group, however, we offer two classes every year. September 1, 2017, is the date for the next class. The Foundation course is completely self-directed.-Pace “online” Course – You decide when and how you want to study. It’s not too late to sign up for the class that began February 6th. We find new classmates to be invigorating.
How long can I access the course?
What does lifetime access look like? Once you enroll, you will have unlimited access to the course on all your devices.
What will I get upon completion?
Frame “Certificate of Completion” All students will be awarded a diploma upon successful completion of the course. You will also be eligible for certifications from organizations like the American Herbalist Guild.
Do I need to join Foundation’s private Facebook Group?
Although it is not necessary, it is highly recommended. To make it easier for all to get involved in our community, we created a private Facebook page for Foundation students. This will be the ongoing place for Q&As with Dr. Low Dog and all of his classmates. We are always looking for resources to make the course even more enjoyable. We can help you set up a Facebook account if you don’t already have one.
Are I required to attend the Summer Intensives
Dr. Low Dog recommends that you attend at most one of these while you’re studying. Summer Intensives may be taken on an optional 3-day basis. Herbal Dr. Low Dog’s ranch in northern New Mexico will provide hands-To complement the curriculum, training will be provided.
Do you offer CE credits?
Because Dr. Low Dog wanted to be able to discuss specific herbal products, traditional & cultural herbal remedies, and keep the tuition costs as low as possible.
What if I am not satisfied with the course?
We wouldn’t want to make you unhappy. We will refund your entire purchase if you are not satisfied within the first 30 days.
