Mr. Webb is Trading Principal & Chief Investment Officer at Blue Creek Capital Management LLC. On 18 August 2020, Mr. Webb became a principal. He also became a registered member of Blue Creek Capital Management LLC in August 2020.
Webb holds a 1st Class degree in Economics and Maths at The London School of Economics (LSE), and a 1st Class degree in Computer Science at The Nottingham University (NU). Webb began his career at the Nottingham University (NU) in May 1993. Hull Trading Company, Inc. Based in London on LIFFE Exchange floor As an assistant trader, I look for arbitrage opportunities in different assets between London and Frankfurt.
Mr. Webb has moved to Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. As part of the Hull Trading Company’s September 1999 acquisition As associate director for Over the Counter Currency Options (OTC). From February 2001 to February 2001, Mr. Webb was responsible the JPY and GBP options desks. To become the Director of Exotic Japanese Yoen Currency Options, Mr. Webb, he moved to Tokyo from Goldman Sachs Group, Inc, Tokyo. This role was split between time spent in Tokyo & London. Webb grew Exotic to become the largest interbank desk in Yen Options worldwide and saw profits increase 220% during 2001-2004. He held the position until July 2004.
In September 2004, Mr. Webb created his own family fund. This business was focused on electronic market making Crude Oil Options on the NYMEX and IPE exchanges (Now CME & ICE). Mr. Webb’s deep awareness of the technical advances enabled this business to thrive. In September 2004, Mr. Webb also started a technology company. This was a low-cost business.-Company in latency technology for the fiber and microwave spaces. Privately, Mr. Webb sold the company in September 2010, with 100% remaining until the sale.
Webb started a consulting firm (Closed Nov 2019) in Jan 2014 to help liquidity provision agencies with their Option price modeling and order placement.-routing challenges between exchanges.
In January 2019, Mr. Webb was co-Founded MacrohedgedA small, global macro research firm that focuses exclusively on Options on Futures markets. They are looking for opportunities in Option Skewness or relative value strategies. This platform has been a huge success and is an ongoing source for alpha in fixed income and commodities.
From 2004, Mr. Webb served as a member on the NYMEX and CME IMM exchanges.
Webb is a Commodity Trading Advisor, (CTA), registered with the CFTC. He is also a member the National Futures Association (0486265).
Webb has made a profit as an independent market maker since 2004 and as a fund operator since then, adapting and embracing technology. Adapting to market conditions and models. Webb has observed a decline in profitability over the past few years in market making and has focused his efforts on alpha extraction of skewness, relative value strategies and alpha extraction. This is the area with greater potential.
