Thanks to phenomena like Dan Brown’s best-Bestsellers, movies like Skull and Bones Madonna is the inspiration behind these hit songs of Secret societies have become mainstream and people believe they are familiar with the most important parts of them. of This is the clandestine underworld.

In fact, if one didn’t know better, one might think the popularization of A conspiracy is made up of a few groups. of itself, to cover up for the many that are never acknowledged…

- The Illuminati—A group so pervasive in popular culture that their name has become synonymous with any generic conspiratorial group—noted throughout literature in everything from Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel Frankenstein Marvel comic books. The truth is, they are hard to keep under wraps because there has never been a single school. of Freemasonry; many variations exist and they don’t play by the same rules.

- U.S. Secret and Civil Service Society Self-Supporting Branch—Founded by Arthur Rochford Manby to “combat nameless evils that regular authorities couldn’t, or wouldn’t, handle.” Manby used this society as a cover to get money, deeds and mortgages from his followers to engage in bootlegging and robbery and murder for hire. It was also a solidification of the secret society mantra of “join or die,” Manby preyed well-To-Do citizens, and then showed the new initiates what broken oaths of Silence or obedience would lead to a beheading.
- The Learned Elders of Zion—A super-secret group of Jewish leaders claimed to be bent on the world dominance by subverting morality of Non-Jews and taking control of The economy and the press. - The Priory of Sion—An uber-secret society claiming to be the restoration of A protection order, dating back to 11th century First Crusade, that was established to safeguard the bloodline of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The society’s objective was supposedly to restore a descendant as the ruler of a unified Europe. It was a concoction of many different things. of A career con man who had created a complete pseudonym.-The likes of the Associated Press have repurposed history from earlier times of Leonardo da Vinci, Victor Hugo, Claude Debussy and most recently Dan Brown.
Secret societies, real and not, were often a mirror. of In some cases, their times reflect exclusionary practices with racist, religious, or classist overtones. In other cases, they could be considered America’s first social welfare system, as many groups established programs to bridge the very divides caused by others.
However, these societies echo the consciousness just as much. of America was fundamentally unprepared for them.-American. Professor Spence points to the fact that John F. Kennedy stated in 1961: “The very word ‘secrecy’ is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths, and to secret proceedings.”
